The Shore Oceanarium

The Shore Oceanarium, which is located within the The Shore Shopping Centre, is the largest aquarium in Melaka. Come to think of it, it is the only aquarium in Melaka at the moment. Apart from providing a great entertainment for all, especially children, it is also a perfect educational platform to educate the masses on marine live and their importance. Thanks to the ample information provided along with video, photos and live exhibits visitors will be able to learn more about the different species of marine lives in the world.

Even the marine lives exhibited are divided in various categories namely those found in the open sea, mangrove, Amazon basin and others. Do not miss the 'touch pool' right at the entrance to the Oceanarium. This is where visitors will be able to get up close and personal with some of the marine lives on exhibit, including stingrays, sand sharks and others. Over here, visitors will be able to touch the animals. Fear not. I was told that the stingrays had had their stingers removed.

The Shore Oceanarium certainly provides another alternative to those wanting to visit a shopping complex and yet do something different, Certainly a great way to spend time with the family.
