Without doubt one of the more popular delicacies in Melaka, particularly among visitors to the State, is none other than the grilled fish (or ikan bakar as they call it locally). The grilled fish is so popular that it has somehow become synonymous with Melaka. This is evident from the number of grilled fish restaurants located along the coast all the way from Kuala Sungai Baru at the border of Melaka-Negeri Sembilan all the way to the border of Melaka-Johor in the south.
